Christmas Greeting Cards - Make One or Buy One?

The very moment the Christmas season swoops in, most of us rush to make plans to whoever we wish to send Christmas greeting cards.. Relatives, close and distant friends, even random colleagues, we all put them on our list of card receivers. As the popular song goes, Christmas is probably the only time of the year when good friends are truly dear. So, to most of us who spend the rest of the year doing reports for work or finishing school projects, the holidays is the perfect way to slow down and make up for all the quality time we owe our loved ones.

And while it is possible for you to just buy ready-made Christmas greeting cards from the internet and from various shopping centers, why not just make your own? For one, this would make your card look really sincere and really thought-about. Also, this is your chance to show your hidden artistic talent.

If you decide to do this, then better start off by buying the needed materials, like cardboards and colored markers.. Fold your cardboards the way that you want your card to be divided. Now, using your markers, draw and scribble on one flap, this is going to be your card’s cover. You can also add your own twist of imagination if you want. For example, make a graffiti on your cover using stickers or cut-outs from magazines. And on the inside, write out your special message to the person whom you intend to give the card to. Now that your Christmas greeting cards are perfectly set, you can now put them inside envelops and go to the post office to drop them.

Home-made greeting cards will no doubt make anyone happy for the holidays, but bought greeting cards are also not a bad choice. If you can’t really make time to construct your own cards or if you know that you can’t really make one, buying is probably the best choice As my favorite gift-giving quote always says, ‘it is the thought that counts’. As long as you make sure that your Christmas greeting cards will be from your hearts, then everyone who receives them will feel it.

In the end, whether you make your own Christmas greeting cards or you buy them, it’s the message and the intention behind that matters. Yes, they are just simple pieces of paper that have a few decorations attached to them. And they will remain to be simple pieces of paper, not unless you fill them up with what you have to offer for the holiday season. Regardless of your distance from the people that you love, you could be living with them right now or you are in another country, the holidays is here to give you the chance to tell them what you feel.
