Most religious folks believe that man was created by god, and that somehow humans are better than all the other animals. Well, I tell you what, why don’t you go up to a polar bear and tell them that, or jump in with a great white shark, and say; “listen buddy, I am better than you, I am a human!” and see how long you last. Why not grab a, African Bee beehive without protective gear and see what happens? See the point, and I didn’t even get to the Siberian Tiger territory argument did I?
You see, in reality there does not seem to be all that much difference between humans and other animals really. Except in many regards humans are pretty weak in many regards. Although humans do have an excellent combination of decent brain ability; thinking and reasoning to go along with their excellent dexterity and use of their hands to make tools, solve problems and modify their environments, that doesn’t make them the best.
Although the Book of Changes was originally used for divination purposes, it has uniquely influenced Chinese spiritual thought and philosophy in a way that brings together human beings and nature into a single cosmological system within the universe. Keep in mind that the I Ching is, in its origin, a book of symbology or symbols long before and well before it evolved into a written language or linguistic form. The Gua are displayed and represented as symbols only.
Next time someone tries to pull this ego-centric humans species argument with you, why not consider all this. After all, have you or they come up with any definite differences or would you say that humans merely seem to have a more significant number of abilities in combination, and thus, we attribute this to more intelligence, or superior species. If so, then do not forget the reality, as a Chimpanzee troop doesn’t need to build houses, and are well adapted to live in their tree canopy paradise as they see it, or as they see the world? Interesting, what are your thoughts on this?
