The guy who runs the site Harmonica Notes is doing a program he calls harmonica 365. His plan is to post his daily practice sessions to Youtube and his site.
Practice is important. it’s how you become a better player. It’s the only to increase your musical skill. Making videos of your practices gives accountability. As you play, people will start following what you’re doing and if you miss a day they will call you on it.
Content is important. If you are building a web site around what instrument you are playing such as Harmonica Notes and want to be popular, regular content is a great idea. It keeps the site current in an easy way. If you are already practicing (which you should be) then recording part of it on a pocket camera is an easy next step. It also promotes your site on Youtube.
Fame as a musician. You will get known if you post daily broadcasts of anything for a year. 52 weeks of videos of you pacticing daily is hard to miss. You’d be hard to miss if a band was looking for a new musician. Youtube has become the second biggest search engine after google and if you have 365 examples of your talent, you should be pretty easy to find.
If you want to become a famous and talented at anything. Promotion and practice are what’s most important. If you record a practice session and post it on your web site and Youtube you can do both at once. Now get out there and do your own Harmonica Notes web site and start practicing and promoting.
