Nikon D90 Price and Review

If you do not have a $1,500 but have $1000 for a Nikon DSLR camera, then get the Nikon D90. The Nikon D90 price is currently $1,000 - $1,300 in Amazon. I think now is the right time to buy Nikon D90.

Nikon D40 and Nikon D60

If you want to improve your shooting skills, get a Nikon D90 instead of the Nikon D60 and Nikon D80. This DSLR camera has many cool extra features. For example, it features a depth-of-field preview button.

Another great reason to get a D90 is that it produces nice photos in nearly all picture-taking situations. This is afforded by its Auto ADR feature, which is always on by default.

What about the Nikon D80?

The D80 is more expensive, but that does not translate to quality and performance. While it costs less, the Nikon D90 is an excellent upgrade. Here are some Nikon D90improvements that I like: 1-stop extra ISO up to 6400, option to go for  a VR 18-105mm kit lens, 2 extra MP, and 3-in LCD screen with higher resolution.

What about the Nikon D300 and D700?

The Nikon D700 and Nikon D300 are much tougher babies than the Nikon D90. They are also much faster if you shoot a lot of sports. But the Nikon D90 performs just as well as the Nikon D30 and Nikon D700 in terms of image quality in good light.

Paying more for a Nikon D300, Nikon D700, or Nikon D3 will give you faster frame rates and focus and better durability, but that is it. On the other hand, the Nikon D90 provides these advantages while having terrific image quality and great LCD screen.

Other nice features

The D90 has many selling points that give you value for your money.  One features that I really like about this DSLR camera is that it can record HD movies. The Nikon D90 has an ergonomic handling, and it eliminates the flawed exposure metering of the Nikon D80 and Nikon D40; the flash metering is also perfect.

Nikon D90 vs Canon T1i

If you are looking for a new DSLR with video, and you cannot decide between the Canon T1i (500D) and Nikon D90, then you may find this spec-comparison article helpful. Here are some of the main differences between the Nikon D90 and the Canon T1i:

ISO boost capability

In terms of ISO boost capability, the Canon T1i seems to be the clear winner as it has higher ISO boost than the Nikon D90. Here is the catch: While the Canon T1i’s 12,800 is good in terms of marketing, it yields poor results in reality.

Resolution sensor

The Canon T1i has a 15.1MP sensor, whereas the Nikon D90 has a 12.3MP sensor. But there are several disadvantages with higher resolution sensors. It can be very costly as you need to buy a high-end quality lens in order to back its high resolution capability.

Video recording capability

In terms of HD video shooting Canon T1i’s feature is better than the D-Movie mode of the Nikon D90. The Canon T1i design is appropriate for recording HD movies. It offers the option of 720p HD movie recording at 30 fps with up to 18min of recording time.

The Nikon D90 is quieter and faster

The Nikon D90 allows you to shoot decisive more easily than the Canon T1i. This DSLR has a continuous shooting rate of 4.5 fps compared to its rival’s 3.4 fps. Also, it sports a quieter shutter mechanism; with less noise, you can capture the perfect images.

The D90 kit lens is superior to the T1i kit lens

The Nikkor AF-S DX 18-55mm VR zoom is a kit lens that provides fine performance and good image quality. In contrast, the Canon EF-S 18-55mm IS zoom looks as if it is more subject to lens flare. It also does not look sharp from corner to corner.

Presently, the newest Nikon D90 holds the world title. Many consumers in many parts of the world have become fans right away, with its “feature-packed fistful of photo fury” as one consumer puts it. Read on to see how other people view the D90:

I am very pleased with this camera. It captures excellent images in automatic setting; you will be very happy if you need to be imaginative with the manual settings. The video mode is a nice feature as well. While the camera does not feature an auto focus for the video mode, it comes out still nice.

 The D90 is a great piece of technology; the 18-105mm lens package is a good start. I am utilizing the factory settings for around 95% of capturing. When you put your images on the web, you will not see the differences between pro cameras and D90.

Nikon D90 Review

The newest Nikon D90 is a great camera. You will agree with me when I say it is the smartest DX format DSLR available today. Read the Nikon D90 review below.

The D90 is packed with the coolest features, upgrading some from the Nikon D300 and Nikon D80. I find the D80 and D300 excellent, but the D90 is even better.

What floored is that the D90 costs much less than the D300, D80, and D3. This is what is good about the digital camera market: The newest product are often better than their predecessors, for much less cost.

If you are considering getting a D300, forget it and go for the D90 instead. I bought my Nikon D90 two months ago, and it has yet to disappoint me. And I do not think it will ever let me down.

The Nikon D90 offers improved photo quality than the D80 and D300, with many features packed in a lightweight plastic package. In terms of ease of use, the D90 does not disappoint. Its simplicity enables you to capture the most excellent photos.

It is not surprising why Nikon’s newest camera delivers and exceeds a lot of expectations. For one, the Nikon D90 is backed by over 60 years of constant innovation and development. This is the reason for the camera’s more intelligent features.

Here are some highlights: 12.3 MP DX-format CMOS imaging sensor; continuous shooting as fast as 4.5 frames-per-second; and HD movie mode (the world’s first). This camera also sports a 3-inch high-density LCD monitor as well as low-noise ISO sensitivity.

The Nikon D90 also features built-in image sensor cleaning and one-button Live View. It features in-camera Image Editing, all-inclusive exposure control, and high precision and durable shutter.

Many will agree if I say that the Nikon D90 is one extraordinary DSLR. Overall, it is a top-class digital camera that makes camera reviewers recommend it highly.

Advantages of the Nikon D90 Camera

The Nikon D90 camera looks so much like the Nikon D80. When I got my D90 at last, I had to check the badge twice just to ensure I got the right DSLR.

Because the D90 appears similar to its precursor, it looks as if this camera is one of those with subdued incremental upgrades. Not true. Look more closely and you will see that the D90 offers cool features that may excite Nikon fans.

Autofocus system

The D90 viewfinder, like the Nikon D80 viewfinder, sports an AF system (11-point) in a diamond arrangement. Still goes by the name of Multi-Cam 1000, like on the D80, the D90’s AF engine has been improved to include three-dimensional focus tracking. It also has the advantage of Face Detection that will bias AF points to go in favor of eyes over noses as well as other objects present in a scene.

Live view

Activating the Live shooting feature on other Nikon cameras means turning the Drive Mode control to Lv, hen you should press the shutter button to lock up the mirror. This is hardly intuitive, but the D90 has a Live view button on its back, right of the LCD. Your thumb can easily reach this.

Scene recognition feature

Nikon has been developing the scene recognition system for years; they are now harvesting the fruit of their efforts. Their latest models have seen improvements to the system. The Nikon D90 comes with this feature.

Overall

Owners of the nice D80 will definitely drool over the D90. Building on the strength of its ancestor, the D90 has a lot going for it.

Building on the might of the D80, the D90 has many exciting things going for it. This latest offering from Nikon upgrades a number of specs and comes with several new features over the excellent D80.

In general, the D90 is a great DSLR offering. Highly recommended.
