There are some very excellent eastern philosophical lessons that Westerners ought to consider. One of the most interesting things is to stop judging so much and become unattached to your belief system so you can really explore what else is out there. This is very good advice when trying to grasp new concepts or get out of the black and white, good and evil mindset that all too often traps Westerners.

Theories concerned with the issue of freedom versus determinism seek to discover the cause of human behavior. Are human actions predictable in a scientific manner? In other words, are there laws of nature, though complex and largely unknown, which would tell us exactly what a person will do in a given situation and which completely rule out any other possibility? This view, known as determinism, has been bolstered since the sixteenth century by the scientific principle of universal causation: every event has a cause and predictions of results can be made with total accuracy.

Hard determinism further holds that moral responsibility is incompatible with universal causation. Soft determinism argues that some behavior is free of compulsion so that people can be held morally responsible. Libertarians maintain that human beings do possess freedom of action. Otherwise, libertarians claim, human deliberation is an illusion.

In contrast to the misnomer ’selfless,’ referring to such people as kind and compassionate more accurately portrays that the people each have kind and compassionate interests which they each act out as opposed to not having interests or not acting out of their interests.

Now then, you might think that is a little bit harsh, but really it is a completely logical and fair assessment. So, it’s okay to be unattached, when it serves you, but make sure you are not serving yourself and your mind to another, who is playing you while you are unattached to common sense, conventional wisdom and without a reality check. Please consider all this

What are poems, and what is poetry? If you have an answer to the question, there's a good chance that you have no idea. I think we'd all agree that a poem is a work of art. While some aspects of poetry may be obvious or evident to many people, such as rhyming, theme, meter, structure, there is so much more. Here are a few things to think about when analyzing poetry:

Syllabic poetry is not common as a native English form, because the English language has strong stresses. A poet writing in a strictly syllabic meter counts how many syllables there are in a line, without paying attention to stress. Haiku is a Japanese syllabic form that has three lines with fixed syllable counts: the first line has five syllables, the second seven, and the third, again, has five.

But there's a field where you excel and rise above the rest,
There is no competition, you really are the best!
Forget the eating nosily, nose picking and the farts,
You are the Worlds Greatest Father; your place is in our hearts!

Art is art. Art has no boundaries or rules. When you stay within the parameters of set rules, it is no longer art. What you have is a paint by number piece, a crossword puzzle, a Mad Lib, an auto chord song on an electronic keyboard…I could go on, but hopefully you have understood my point.

If you are looking for a unique special gift on Father's Day, it is very worthwhile considering having a personalized poem written just for your father. There are plenty of websites supplying this service, all you have to do are provide some details about your dad- his hobbies, likes, dislikes and any incidents that might come to mind, without completely embarrassing the poor man of course!

A personalized poem is a gift your dad will treasure for always. Click the links below to get full details

Talk Radio is a play about a late night radio host, Barry Champlain, who has always been controversial and who is also about to expand his popular talk show from Cleveland to move it to a broader nationwide audience. One night, he faces several callers who make him reveal his true feelings live on air. He is known to be abusive and insulting to his callers, and that is what makes him so popular. There are callers waiting in line to speak to him on air because they want to hear his scathing words and insults. He invites listeners to call him and to tell him what is troubling them, and then he deals with them in a cold and derisive careless manner.

On the show he has to deal with all types of callers such as those who tell him that they are afraid of a garbage disposal, or talk to him about the surgeries they have had, or even one case when a caller is trying to wake up his girlfriend and thinks she is dead. Champlain deals with them all with his sharp tongue and scathing words. Based on his show ratings, his sponsors want to broadcast his show nationwide. This does not please Champlain though and he gets even worse and more perverse on air which scares the sponsors. And when he is asked to tone it down, he gets devastatingly abusive on his show egging his audience to give him their 'best shot??.

How The Trick Is Done

This a great mind reading trick and the secret is so subtle, no one will ever guess the method used. Take each matchbook and push the flap of each book in really firmly behind the striking surface. You will find that when a spectator opens a matchbook and tears out a match, he will not push the flap in as tightly as you did. This is the main secret of the trick.

Talk Radio was first staged at the Public Theater in 1987 and seeing its success there, Bogosian decided to revive the play on Broadway. The play had its first preview on February 15, 2007 and it opened at Longacre Theater on March 11, 2007. The play is directed by Robert Falls and the cast includes Liev Schreiber as the acid-tongued Barry Champlain, Stephanie March as Linda MacArthur, Peter Hermann as Dan Woodruff and Michael Laurence as Stu Noonan. Incidentally, Michael Laurence stands in for Liev Schreiber in a couple of performances.

So, how do you know which card is his? It is simple. The card he is thinking about will always be the middle card of the three! No matter what card he picks, it will always be the middle card. That is the secret!

Knowing this, you can pull out the cards on either side of it first and then pull out the middle card for your big finish.

You should perform this trick at a quick pace, so the spectator does not have any time to work out the card positions in his mind
